MTECH 2016 to showcase latest products from MERALCO’s technology partners (2/2)

MERALCO’s upcoming technology and innovation summit MTECH 2016 will stage a must-see Exhibit and Experience Zone, which will showcase the latest products and services from the power utility’s business and technology partners.

MERALCO Chief Technology Advisor Gavin D. Barfield said the exhibits would demonstrate the huge amount of technology and innovation that is going on at MERALCO as we embrace the digital age. “We are utilizing the latest technology to improve our grid operations, provide more consumption information and convenience to our customers and to roll out new products and services. At MERALCO, we are engraining technology and innovation into our DNA.”

Open from August 23 to 25, 2016 (Tuesday to Thursday), the Exhibit Zone in the MERALCO Lopez Building Lobby, will showcase the company’s leading technology partner brands such as, Dell, Hitachi, SAP, Pazifik Power, Lenovo, Symantec + Blue Coat, CALIBR8, Schneider Electric, Indra, Siemens, Huawei, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Salesforce, Microsoft, Trends and Technologies Inc., Trend Micro, Geodata Systems Technologies, WSI, Smart, PLDT and Radius Telecoms will showcase their latest innovations. Moreover, MERALCO Kuryente Load – the power utility’s prepaid electricity service – will also be demonstrated.

The Experience Zone, which will be situated inside the MERALCO Theatre Lounge will feature Smart Home Solutions by Schneider Electric (which includes appliance control and electric consumption monitoring), Indra (smart sensors and appliance control through smart plugs) and CALIBR8 (electric consumption monitoring and analytics).

The Experience Zone will also have exhibits by Lenovo (tablets, PCs, and Laptops), Dell (tablets, office PCs, gaming PCs and laptops; servers for back end systems), WSI Philippines (large format displays and office printer), Trends and Technologies (sound system), Microsoft (Xbox One and VR device) and Abenson (home appliances).

PLDT HOME and Smart subscribers can now enjoy seamless video streaming via Netflix


Manila, Philippines – PLDT HOME Fibr, DSL, Ultera and Smart subscribers can now access the extensive library of movies, TV shows and original content of global video streaming pioneer Netflix.

While all PLDT HOME subscribers can access Netflix using their home broadband plans, Netflix is best experienced with the powerful connection of PLDT HOME Fibr which now delivers speeds of up to 1Gbps and with plans as low as P1,899 per month, with free TVolution stick.

Netflix’s adaptive streaming feature recognizes how robust the connection is and automatically adjusts the video quality streamed to the screens. Fibr’s unique symmetrical download and upload speeds allow users to watch their favorite Netflix shows on high-definition and even on Ultra HD quality. PLDT HOME and Smart pioneer PH’s first data sharing capabilities



PLDT and Smart Communications, the country’s leading telecommunications and digital services providers, have come together to offer the Philippines’ first data plan that enables subscribers to a home DSL service to share their data allocation with mobile phones of their family. 

Under its new Speedster Fam Plan 1299, PLDT HOME DSL offers five times faster speeds of up to 10 megabits per second (Mbps) and a monthly data allocation of 50 gigabytes (GB).
