Manila, Philippines - Last January 24, I was invited to witness Chan Lim Artwork Exhibit in SM North Edsa as part of SM celebration for the Chinese New Year. The location was full of 100 hand painted lanterns made by the notable Chan Lim Family of Artists and Students.
Every year, the Chan Lim Family of Artists and Students displays more than 1000 artworks in different location of the Philippines.
One of the Chan Lim siblings, Alex Chan, shows how he creates the painting and completing two masterpieces on the spot.
Chan Lim is the name used by the family patriarch in signing all his artwork. The name is formed by combining the last names of the sibling’s parents. His real name is Jose.
Chan Lim Family of Artists has been actively involved in the arts for more than four decades now. Although, none of the Chan Lim siblings has a degree in arts in fact, they are all engineers engaged with multinational companies, bounded with the love for the arts they continue to conduct numerous art classes, workshops, seminars and on-the-spot painting demonstration.
